Schweighofer students in Moinesti start the final semester of the programme
Students in the vocational class supported by the company at the Moinesti Technical High-School have entered a straight line: they will soon complete the final semester, they will go through the last practical training and get their close-of-a-chapter memories, as they complete the school years. After the final tests, they will graduate with professional qualifications recognized in the European Union and will receive job offers at the Holzindustrie Schweighofer mills in Romania.
After a short holiday, the semester begins with wonderful news: 26 of the 28 students have qualified for the top scholarship, worth 700 lei per month. The very good academic results show that, when working together with our colleagues, students not only learned secrets of their trade, but also the attitude that makes us leaders of the wood industry: Getting better every day!
Recently, the group of electricians-to-be received from the company a donation of devices and materials specific to the practical work they carry out in the school workshop.

He also selected the necessary materials for us – fuses, relays, sensors, a control unit. We have now received the equipment from the company and are very grateful to everyone,” said Titi Vizitiu, the teacher and coordinator of the apprentice electricians.
Prior to the winter holiday, the programme was the subject of a short story by Romania TV (broadcast in January and available here).
HS programmes to support vocational and university education
The Moinesti programme, in progress since 2016, prepares 28 students from the Technical High-School in Moinesti in two crafts essential for industrial activities. Within the partnership, the company upgraded, renovated, and endowed the school’s electrical workshop, partly renovated the school dorm, provided the students’ scholarships and all expenses required for the annual practical training. Upon completion of the studies, students will receive job offers in HS units without having to accept them.
Beginning this year, the company also supports a new dual vocational education class at the Latcu Voda Technical High-School in Siret (Suceava county).
Since 2014, the company also supports university students in forestry and wood engineering with real talent and abilities for innovation. In the current academic year, 20 students from universities in Suceava, Brasov or Cluj-Napoca receive monthly scholarships worth 800 lei.
