Students from six countries visited our Rădăuți sawmill
At the end of last week, 12 students, together with their tutors from the Padua Forestry Faculty, visited our Rădăuți sawmill. The students come from six countries: Italy, Brazil, England, Poland, Sudan, Zambia and follow the Forest Science Masters’ programme. As part of this Masters, they completed a practice programme that took place in July in Romania and included visits to the forests and to our sawmill.
Just within a few hours, the students, accompanied by their tutors from the Padua University and also by the professors from the Ștefan cel Mare partner university from Suceava, got familiar with the production process, HS products and the Timflow traceability system. For all the students, this was the first meeting with a modern sawmill.
Veronica, a first year Masters’ degree student, told us that she heard that Romania is an interesting country in terms of landscapes and forest ecosystems, so she really wanted to visit our country. She continued: “Everything I visited during this practice programme was really impressive, especially in the sawmill. We appreciated the involvement of the company in the initiatives regarding sustainability, as well as the organisation of the factory and the efficiency of the production process. I've never seen such a big factory. It was awesome!”
