Tomorrow’s Forest is much more than volunteering
With the spring planting campaign fast approaching, the Tomorrow’s Forest initiative is the kind of logistic effort whose complexity cannot be captured in a couple of figures: 1 million trees, 1 million euros budget. Ionut Apostol, project manager, gave an exclusive interview to the website www.tomorrowsforest.ro, offering details less known to the general public, including many of the enthusiastic volunteers who often lend a hand in reforestation activities.
An excerpt:
Several reforestation projects will run this spring. The regeneration difficulties affecting the plots are quite diverse, from areas affected by forest fires recently to areas degraded years or decades ago. Our project beneficiaries are mostly community organizations and local administrations.
Spring is going to be exciting, with multiple reforestation sites, while I also can’t wait to see green leaves at the Poieni-Solca site, where we launched the project in November last year.
