HS Baco: supporting entrepreneurship and local initiatives
The impact Holzindustrie Schweighofer has on local economy in the region where it activates is not reduced to taxes paid to the local authorities and its involvement in social, educational and environment project, which together support community development.
Apart from the workplaces offered directly, our company develops local partnerships, essential to our operations – with goods and services suppliers for the mills and the employees – such that, for instance, the number of jobs created through all these direct, indirect and induced effects is close to 10,000 in Romania.
We have collaborations and partnerships with hundreds of companies of all sizes, and these, we strongly believe, are the key to our common success.
This is why projects such as the Young Entrepreneurs Gala in Bacau County (Romania) – a series of events for stimulating local initiatives and, at the same time, an important networking platform for start-ups and emerging businesses – are important to us and we are glad to have supported the third edition of the Gala, held in late April in Bacau [RO].
As a local sponsor, Holzindustrie Schweighofer Baco was involved in the main novelty of this year’s edition: colloquia in Comanesti, Moinesti and Buhusi, where young entrepreneurs had the opportunity to meet each other and discuss possible partnerships, including those with the local authorities, in order to develop regional businesses and local economy. As proof of the region’s vitality, one third of the nominees for the two Gala trophies (“Start-up of the year” and “Excellence under 35”) where selected from the Comanesti and Moinesti.
Congratulations to the organizers and good luck to the young entrepreneurs!
