Sustainable forest management is at the heart of our sustainability efforts in the supply chain. We have therefore set ourselves the goal of only sourcing wood from certified forests by 2030.

All of our plants have PEFC Chain of Custody certification and a label from the Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI), which recognises global standards based on the PEFC Chain of Custody. In addition, our plants in Comanesti and Luvia have FSC Chain of Custody certification. We are SURE certified for our biomass purchases for our combined heat and power (CHP) plants in Germany and Romania.

As one of the global market leaders in our industry, we are convinced that certification is an important tool for promoting good forestry practices and preventing deforestation worldwide. We therefore also support certification by actively participating in dialogue with the certification organisations. The HS Timber Group has been a PEFC international stakeholder member since 2023.
