CERTIFICATION

The certification system for sustainable forest management PEFC is an international, independent, non-profit and non-governmental organisation for the assurance and continuous improvement of sustainable forest management through independent third-party certification. 

The HS Timber Group holds PEFC CoC (Chain of Custody) certificates for all its wood processing facilities.

HS Baco Panels and Luvia hold a FSC® certificate, acknowledging the initiatives to source 100% wood from certified forests. This shows our strong commitment to sustainability and responsible forest management.

HS Timber Group is the first solid wood lumber company approved to use the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI®) Label Recognizing Global Standards. The label recognises PEFC Chain of Custody (CoC) certified wood products outside of North America.

The ISO 14001 family of standards defines internationally recognised requirements for environmental management systems. It includes many other standards on different aspects of environmental management, for example life cycle assessments, environmental performance indicators and the environmental performance evaluation.

The HS Timber Group currently holds ISO 14001 certification in Reci and Comănești.

SURE (Sustainable Resources Verification Scheme) is a new certification system established in Germany in 2020 that ensures compliance with sustainability and greenhouse gas emission reduction requirements for biomass and biofuels. It is designed to help companies comply with European Union directives, especially RED II and the new RED III. 

The sawmills in Rădăuţi and Reci, Romania and the one in Kodersdorf, Germany hold a SURE certificate.
