Schweighofer Scholarships: Student workshops throughout March
Holzindustrie Schweighofer is a partner of the educational institutions and also supports the future of the wood professionals by awarding 24 monthly scholarships to students with outstanding results in forestry and wood engineering profiles, in the academic year 2017-2018. Each scholarship has a total value of 8,000 lei for the entire academic year.
Under the scholarship program, students are developing projects on current topics of interest in forestry and wood industrialization, such as: timber circulation; the evolution of certification systems in Romania; the evolution of wood prices in Romania and the EU; modern measuring technologies for logs; as well as various studies applied on modern wood products (MDF, HDF, OSB, chipboard, blockboard).
March is devoted to discussing projects within workshops. These events take place in the university centers from Cluj-Napoca, Brasov and Suceava. We aim to be a support for the future generations of professionals and therefore, together with students and coordinating professors, at workshops are invited specialists in the field, representatives of the press and other partners.
"The purpose of these workshops is to encourage the development of critical spirit, analysis skills, to research innovative solutions but also the broad understanding of industry developments within the future generations of specialists. The projects under consideration involve both analysis and research, but also practical applications, and it is also interesting for us, as specialists, to look through the eyes of young students, a new perspective to address aspects that we encounter in practice. We also bring together academics, companies and experts to share ideas. Also, this is a great opportunity for these meritorious students as they have the chance to become the future specialists of our company. We want to develop together!” says Vasile Varvaroi, Holzindustrie Schweighofer.
