HS Timber Group completes acquisition of Malå Såg AB and launches Malå Timber

Strategic step strengthens presence in Northern Europe and marks the beginning of integration

Vienna, July 2, 2026 - HS Timber Group has successfully completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares in the Swedish sawmill Malå Såg AB from Setra Trävaror AB. With the closing of the transaction, Malå Såg becomes part of HS Timber Group and will operate under the name Malå Timber.

The closing marks the transition from announcement to active collaboration and integration. HS Timber Group will work closely with the local management team in Malå to further develop the site, strengthen its market position, and ensure long-term sustainable growth.

Malå Såg is a well-established sawmill in northern Sweden, specializing in high-quality products made from Nordic pine and serving international markets. With its strong regional footprint and integration into local value chains, the site represents a valuable addition to the Group’s portfolio.

“We are very pleased to welcome the Malå Timber team to HS Timber Group. Today marks the beginning of our joint journey. Together, we will build on a strong foundation, further develop the site, and create long-term value for customers, employees, and partners,” said Jürgen Bergner, CEO of HS Timber Group.

HS Timber Group will draw on the expertise at the site and further develop it with a long-term perspective. The focus will be on step-by-step integration into the Group’s international network, while strengthening local structures and partnerships.

The acquisition strengthens HS Timber Group’s presence in Northern Europe and supports its strategic objective of further expanding its portfolio of high-quality, sustainably sourced wood products.
