- This is the third consecutive cooperation with the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) for anti-corruption and antitrust trainings
- Building awareness and continuous training are key to success
- Lively compliance culture strengthens the company’s security architecture
Transparency and an ethically correct behaviour are cornerstones of the company’s security architecture. Therefore, HS Timber Group continues its series of anti-corruption trainings in 2020 as well. Together with the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA), the series of trainings has been continued via online workshops, for employees in the sales and purchasing departments. This is the third consecutive training of this kind.
The International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) is an international organization and educational institution in the field of anti-corruption and compliance based in Laxenburg, Austria. Yoojin Choi, Head of Programmes and Activities Department at IACA, said: “IACA is appreciating this ongoing cooperation with HS Timber Group, on tailor- made trainings. We were happy to observe during the workshop lively discussions and strong engagement of HS Timber Group’s participants. These are all signs of active learning enhancing the open exchange of ideas, something we always try to promote.” Several workshops and discussions with renowned experts have been held in recent years in cooperation with IACA, including last year’s introduction of HS Timber Group’s new Code of Conduct.
“With these additional trainings, we have deepened our knowledge and recapped what we call the foundation on which the ethical standards of HS Timber Group are built: compliance with the laws, in their letter and spirit,” said Vasile Varvaroi, log purchasing manager at HS Timber Productions Rădăuți and Reci. “Our integrity increases the trust of our partners and of civil society as a whole.”
Well-trained employees, with a clear sense for ethically and legally correct behaviour, are of outmost importance for HS Timber Group. For this reason, the webinars also covered topics such as current anti-corruption trends and measures in Romania and the EU, as well as practical exercises in the field of anti-competitive behaviour prevention and mitigation. Such trainings are important measures to keep up to date with the most recent changes in the legislation which concerns our activity.
