The retirement home for the elderly in Radauti opened in October 2017. Since then, the modern, warm and bright building has become “home” for 40 seniors. We’re glad to share a short movie with you!
The home has a capacity of 40 beds, providing medical, psychological and social care with professional staff. The building complex is split into three pavilions, for men, women and bed-ridden patients. Each room has two single beds and its own bathroom. There is a kitchen, a large dining hall, a washroom and various offices for the care services available. One year after the inauguration, the center was named “Gerald Schweighfofer” – after the company’s owner.
On October 1st, International Day of the Older Persons, we were together with the center’s beneficiaries for a special moment prepared by enthusiasts from the Children’s Club and the Children’s Universe family-home in Radauti – songs and warm wishes – and we brought the sweetest cakes in Radauti.
The seniors enjoy visits very much, and they can’t wait to share a joke or a life story, full of wisdom. Anyone having the time and disposition can visit them in Francei Street in Radauti. The experience will be unforgettable, guaranteed!
The retirement home was fully financed by Holzindustrie Schweighore (more than 733,000 euros for construction works and endowments). It is yet another large-scale project in Radauti, together with the “Maria Ward” Social Center for children.
