At the opening ceremony of the school year, held at the Eudoxiu Hurmuzachi National College in Rădăuți, Holzindustrie Schweighofer offered prizes to the most eminent students. The award-winning students are those who have finished the previous school year with grade 10, those who have passed the Baccalaureate exam with very high marks and those who have stood out over the years through civic activities.
“We are pleased to participate in the opening of the school year of an elite educational institution. We congratulate the award-winning students and - equally - the guiding teachers. HS supports performance in education,” said Mădălina Mărtinaș, PR specialist at Holzindustrie Schweighofer Rădăuți.
“Last year it was a first experience where we decided to award the students with the best results at the Baccalaureate exam at the opening ceremony of the new school year. We did it from our own resources, with symbolic amounts of money," said Prof. Adrian Puiu, director of the college. "This year, through the decision of the board of directors, we also decided to establish an official award named Ernst Rudolf Neubauer, after the name of the first director of the college, when the educational institution was established in 1872, so here we have a tradition and a history of education and school performance dating almost a century and a half back."
In order to finance the prizes offered to the students, this year, the College requested the financial support of Holzindustrie Schweighofer, which decided to sponsor the rewards. Thus, student Nastasi Adelina with the total score of 9.96 at the Baccalaureate exam received the amount of 500 lei, and the next ten students were rewarded with the amount of 200 lei each. Also, five students in year IX-XI of studies - the current X-XII years - who completed the previous school year with the maximum score of 10 were awarded the special I.G. Sbiera prize. They were rewarded with the amount of 100 lei per person.
The director of the college thanked Holzindustrie Schweighofer for the openness it has shown in rewarding "the school performance as an ethos of the social and educational culture of the Eudoxiu Hurmuzachi National College."
Holzindustrie Schweighofer promotes and supports performance in education. The company is involved in social, educational and environmental projects, especially in the regions where it runs its activities. Between 2010 and 2018 the company sponsored social projects worth over 6.3 million Euro.
