When we decided to act for increasing transparency in the Romanian wood industry, one of the first measures in our action plan was to open our doors to the media - and we kept them open. For two years already, dozens of journalists from Romanian and foreign media crossed our threshold.
This week, journalists from the public television network in Cologne, Germany - Westdeutschland Rundfunk, WDR - visited our sawmill in Reci.
The reporter team could see our due diligence system in action as well as the operations of our traceability system for saw log deliveries, Timflow. Next, they followed the production flow, from sorting the logs, through cutting and further processing of timber products, all the way to the making of pellets – 100% use of the raw materials. The journalists’ visit concluded with an interview with Mr. Dan Bănacu, General Manager, Holzindustrie Schweighofer.
